Code of Conduct

Code of Conduct for Players
This must be read by all playing members of Langton Green Netball Club
As a member of LGNC players agree to:
-
Arrive at matches at least 20 minutes before the start time, or at a previously agreed time, to enable you to warm up thoroughly. Attend training on time.
-
Respect, encourage and support the coach and other players at training and matches.
-
Notify the team coach as soon as possible of unavailability for matches and training. Call if you are running late.
-
Respect match and team officials and their decisions.
-
Make every effort to develop your own sporting abilities, in terms of skill, technique, tactics and stamina.
-
Know, respect and abide by the laws of the game and competition rules.
-
Give maximum effort and strive for the best possible performance during a game, even if the team is in a position where the desired result has already been achieved.
-
Wear the correct kit for matches and suitable clothing/footwear for training.
-
Set a positive example for others, particularly young players and supporters.
-
Accept success and failure, victory and defeat, equally.
-
Promote Langton Green Netball Club positively to people in and outside of the club.
Code of Conduct for Parents
This must be read by at least one parent/guardian of all playing members of Langton Green Netball Club
Parents of a LGNC player agree to:
-
Encourage players to participate for their own enjoyment, not to please you or their coach.
-
Emphasise the importance of involvement first, winning second.
-
Praise effort and performance regardless of the result.
-
Encourage players to play by the rules and not argue with umpires or other officials. Lead by example by respecting the decision of the umpire and team officials. In many cases newly qualified umpires are appointed to games in order to gain experience and these officials, male or female, should be given encouragement and support.
-
Do not ridicule or shout at players for making a mistake or losing a game, we learn from our mistakes.
-
Matters of team selection, including the playing of substitutes, remain the sole responsibility of the team coach/manager and their decisions will remain final.
-
Pay any fees on time.
-
Do not make any inappropriate comments about an official, coach or player either verbally or on social media/emails.
-
Do not use or tolerate inappropriate language.
-
A parent who has a grievance regarding the opposition, umpire, spectators or any other aspect of the game should raise the matter with the team manager. If the matter itself concerns the team manager, then the grievance should be taken to the Club Chair. If the manager is unable to resolve the matter then it will be passed onto the Club’s Committee/President. It is not acceptable for individuals to take the law into their own hands.
-
If LGNC feel that a parent does not adhere to the club’s code of conduct, we will follow a set procedure (verbal warning; a written formal warning; player and parent asked to leave the club).
